I have been looking forward to Emily & Drew’s Post Falls estate wedding since last summer. I’ve know Emily for over 7 years and not only is she gorgeous but she also has the biggest heart and a smile that is contagious. I met drew last year when I photographed their lifestyle session. He is a real stand up guy and just started a brand new business venture into selling insurance. So if your in need of insurance make sure to look him up! This coupled rock it and I can’t thank them enough for allowing me to photograph their wedding day.

Their wedding was held at Emily’s parents beautiful 5 acre estate in Post Falls. The house and grounds were immaculate and it was a perfect location for a small gathering of 250+ people .

Cabo San Lucas wedding with Paul & Tiffanie Schweitzer

Over New Years we were hired to photograph a destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas. Tiffanie and Paul are from Moscow, ID area and decided that since Tiffanie’s family has a house in Cabo San Lucas why not have the wedding there. Plus since they wanted an outside wedding on 1-1-11 it might be a little cold to have it in Idaho. What I love about destination weddings is how intimate they are. Usually there is less than 50 people attending and it gives Sydne and I a chance to meet everyone. We get to spend time with the families, wedding party, laugh and in this case we got to share lots of tequila!

They wedding location was at the gorgeous Cabo Del Sol property. The property grounds and club house are amazing, and the food…. well lets just say it was a seven course meal and everything tasted fabulous! The guest were transported to the beach via golf cart limousines and while we were shooting photos the guest had an open cocktail hour to enjoy the beach views.

Sydne and I would like to thank Paul and Tiffanies’s families for making us feel welcomed (how can you not when the father of the bride gives us road sodas on the way to our condo) and allowing us to share this special day with you.

Bridal Festival this weekend

Hey everyone I’m in the office and trying to get back with everyone. Please be patient because I have a lot of to do’s and I will get back with you.

On another note this weekend is the bridal festival so if you know anyone getting married send them and have the stop by and say hi. Check out this cool photo of Carissa, Jaime and I. Its going to be 4′ X 6′ and I cant wait to see it printed!

Well sorry for the update delay. To be honest the internet here is hit and miss and in most cases its dial up! I will be updating and posting the journey once I arrive home. I hope everyone had a nice holiday season!

San Jose -> Dominical -> Quepos

Wow the last three days have been, frustrating and amazing all at the same time. My first word of advice is this, if you fly into San Jose, CR take the next flight out to an airport closer to your destination. San Jose is a (insert bad cuss word) nightmare. As Forest Gump would say “that’s all I have to say about that”.

Once we got out of San Jose it was gorgeous! We climbed up into the rain forest and reached an elevation of 11500 ft. Which was cool but it was so foggy that we were driving blind. It was a long day of driving and we reached Dominical around 8pm on Friday. Dominical is a sweet little surf town and the people were really nice. Meet some people from San Diego and Louisiana and had a couple beers with them. After two nights in Dominical we headed north toward Quepos. This road was filled with pot holes and there are no traffic rules. You kinda just make a decision and go with it. We found this awesome beach called Playa Matapalo. The beach was gorgeous and completely empty. There were monkeys in the trees and racoon’s on the ground. This might be my retirement spot!

Were now in Quepos and visited Manuel Antonio Reserve. This place is gorgeous and wish we could have spent more time here. But we have to be in Jaco tomorrow because we have two night reserved up there.

I will post some pics soon but its time to head out for a cerveza and dinner.

San Jose

Well we made it to San Jose. Unfortunately our bags didn’t so we have to wait in town for awhile till they show up. The roads here are crazy. There are no road signs and if there is one its up on a building and its really small. If you travel a lot and don’t have a Amex business platinum card, get one! You can get into all the Airline clubs and drink for free, relax and plenty of plugins to charge all your fun devices. PS If you travel with Rick, make sure your bags show up otherwise he gets PISSED! HA Hasta Luego

The day is finally here! We leave tomorrow at 7am and arrive in San Jose, CR around 9:30 pm (which is 7:30 our time). I’m sorry for the lack of blogging but its been hectic trying to get ready for the trip and getting all the neccesary orders mailed out for all my fantastic clients.

I will try to blog every chance I get while I’m in Costa Rica. Happy Holidays and have a fantastic New Year.

17 Days!!!!!

17 days till I take off for Costa Rica. I can’t believe its already here. Rick and I bought these tickets back in July and December seemed years away! Our next stop after Dominical is Arenal Volcano. This is one of the worlds most active volcano’s which sits in the Monteverde jungle. My friends who have been here before said that there are tuncans and thousands of other colorful birds. Not only that but there is a river that comes right our of the volcano. A lot of the resorts have diverted the river into various hot springs on their properties. I can’t wait to spend some time in these warm pools with a nice cold beer!
Besides the desire to see this volcano and jungle were also pumped on the canopy tour here. These are zip lines that go through the top of the jungle. At some points you are dangling over 200 ft from the ground! The video below is of someone on this zip line, which just happens to be over a half mile long! Check it out.

December 23 – 25th Playa Dominical

Dominical, Costa Rica will be our next stop after Pavones. We haven’t decided how long were gonna stay in Dominical. All we do know is that this small surf community is a favorite to everyone we have talked with. From what we have heard Dominical has yet to become a tourist trap. Most of the restaurants and hotels are small family owned operations. The attitude and lifestyle is real friendly and laid back. Which is exactly what were looking for!

Our main plan is to see as much as possible, but we really aren’t sticking to a schedule. So if we fall in love with this place we might stay for awhile. As of now we are scheduled to spend our Christmas in Dominical. I can’t tell you how excited I am to spend Christmas with sand on my feet, beer in hand, sun on my face and a good surf session!

I tried to find a good video, but no such luck. I guess people are trying to keep this place a secret for as long as possible. But I did find this video.
