Mom update + workshop + Wedding updates

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I wanted to give you guys an update on my mom. She will be having a full mastectomy within the next two weeks. The fact that the Dr are doing this surgery is a great thing. It means she is getting better and they are taking the next step to making her cancer free. I will be heading down sometime next week to take care of her after surgery. I want to thank everyone for your thought and prayers, the are working!

Workshop Update

I’m also really close to announcing my photo workshops. The workshops will be focused on beginner photographers that want to learn how to take great pictures with your point and shoot camera or your DSLR camera. I will be teaching 2 classes, one for each camera type (point and shoot or DSLR). This way I can really focus on the various camera modes and settings for each. Each class will be 4 sessions and 2 hours for each session. Here is how each class will be broken down….

Day 1 – Focusing on your camera settings and shooting modes

Day 2 – Learn how to get the proper exposure, lens effects, photography rules and when to break them.

Day 3 – Photo fun day. We will head out and shoot till our hearts content. Applying the new knowledge you have obtained from the last 2 days.

Day 4 – Choose your 5 favorite photos and the whole class will do a constructive critique on them.

Keep checking back for the dates. Or email me if you want to be put on the list.

Wedding Update

I was reviewing my wedding dates and realized that I don’t not have any weddings booked for July! This is unheard of for me and I would really love to fill up those Saturdays. If you know anyone who is getting married in July and still needs a photographer please send them my way.

I can’t believe all this snow!

Wow, 30+ inches in 24 hours and my back is sore from shoveling! I’ve finally had some time to work on a couple more photos from Wallowa Lake and our trip back into Idaho.

6 days till Christmas.

Making money on the road.

I received a phone call from Range the day I was supposed to leave California. They were in a bind and need a custom photo for an ad that was going out at noon the next day. They explained the ad and emailed me a couple concept sketches for the shoot. Once I agreed to take the job I knew exactly where I needed to go.  A couple hours after sunset I headed out to make the shot. I grabbed Sydne to come along with me and we headed to a large commercial area where I knew of numerous empty lighted parking lots.  On the way down Sydne was so exhausted from a couple late work nights and traveling to see me that she fell asleep on the way to the location. Below is the image that I created for the ad. Nice and simple!

The funny thing is, when Sydne first saw the ad she was like ” Did you take that? and if so when? “. I laughed and said while you were asleep. HA
