Hello everyone, I’ve been designing wedding albums the last couple weeks. I have about 18 album designs to go before I can close the 2007 wedding season. Today I received a call from a children’s clothing company. Somehow they found me on the internet and fell in love with my lifestyle work with kids. We talked for a bit and they asked for me to send current images to show the advertising firm they are working with. I’m crossing my fingers on this one because it sounds like a very fun job! Anyways, I realized that I haven’t posted any of these shots for my blog stalkers. I felt really bad, so I hope these will make up for any hard feelings.

Last year I donated a family lifestyle session to a local charity for an auction. The Bennets were the highest bidders so we scheduled the session and away we went. I remember coming home from that first shoot with them wondering if I shot anything good. I was blown away at the imagery I captured and so were the Bennet’s. They were so impressed they purchased my multi-year family lifestyle package. This is an awesome package for all you families out there. I come once a year and spend 2-3 hours with your family. We set up fun locations and activities and I document the day. After each session you receive a hand made Italian album with your family’s images from the day! What an awesome way to show your family growing together!
For this session we started out at their home in Coeur d Alene, then went to the ultra exclusive Gozzer Ranch. These kids are a blast to photograph. This year the kids seemed really comfortable in front of the camera. Which left the rest up to me!

Today I’ve been contacting most of my remaining Brides (except the ones that have hired Jaime Johnson because she takes care of all that for me! She is awesome!) and thats 5 to be exact! These last 5 weddings are going to be amazing and I love that I’m finishing up my wedding season in Hawaii!
I then decided to see what I had booked for Oct. and Nov. and its looking really slow! I don’t like to be sitting on my butt for long periods of time without using my camera. So I figured the best way to get the word out would be to post something on my blog. So here is what I want to offer………
All you new couples out there that just became engaged and want an SWP lifestyle session here is your chance for a deal. The session will stay $300 for 1.5 hrs of shooting. But I will give you a free SWP art image from the session! The print does have to be an 8X10 or smaller.
I’m also going to be getting into the modeling photography/business. If you know anyone who needs to update their modeling portfolio, or someone who wants to get into modeling please send them my way. The sessions last 3 hours and includes unlimited clothing changes and locations with 5 retouched images for $350.00.
Please pass on this info to friends and family. My business is mainly successful because of “word of mouth” marketing from great people like you. Without my past clients recommendations I would not be where I’m at today.
I hope everyone has a great long weekend and thank you in advance for passing my info to everyone.

I wanted to share a quote that I read recently. Sometimes I will turn to a book of quotes and read them for inspiration in life and in business. Especially in the times where I’m behind and the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be getting smaller.
- There is only one success – to be able to spend your life in your own way.

- Christopher Morley
US author & journalist (1890 – 1957)
As I read this quote I realized why I love my (so called) job. Its not only because I get to make my own schedule or because I get to do what I love for a job. It’s because it enables me to live the life I want to live. When I’m at destination wedding, road tripping with my friends on a wakeboard shoot or on my own chosen adventure, I realize how lucky I am. I have never based my success on how much money I have in the bank or material objects that I may own. It’s always been based on life experiences, time spent with family and friends and all the good-times and stories that I have from them. In my mind, when I’m 60 and sitting on my porch in Mexico watching the waves come in. It’s not going to be what I’ve bought, have worn or what I could have done business wise. It’s going to be about my friends, family and all the memories I have from them!

I can’t believe its already the end of July! This summer has been a whirlwind of weddings and lifestyle sessions, on top of all my traveling. I figured it’s time to update my schedule that way everyone knows where I’m at and what I’m up to.
First off I need to let everyone know that I made the cover of Northwest Bride & Newlywed! Its on stands now and it is a great reasource for all your wedding needs from Seattle, Portland all the way over to Montana. So if your getting married anytime soon make sure you pick one up. Then give me a call so you can book me for your wedding!

The next big news is SWP is going to Maui! I was just commissioned for a wedding there for the 26th of September. I will be in Maui from Sept. 23rd through the 28th. It’s going to be a very small event with about 30 people for a sunset ceremony. Then we will take a short walk to the 4 season for the reception. This should be a great way to end my wedding season!
My schedule for the next 8 weeks is as follows….
July 28th Chelsea and Sams wedding at a private residence in Hayden Lake.
Aug. 2-3 I will be in Lewiston photographing some of the local pro riders
Aug. 4th I will be in Sandpoint photograph Amber and Darby’s wedding.
Aug 6-9th I will be all over the lakes in the Northwest shooting more local wakeboard pros. I would love to give you more information on this but I’m not a liberty to. So I will post some shots when I am able to.
August 10th I have Sarah & Terry’s wedding in Post Falls. This should be a great one with a lot of “alternative wedding images”. You will know what I mean when I get them posted. Should be a blast.
August 11th I have Shawna and Kevins wedding just outside of Spokane. This is a great couple with a gorgeous home location for the ceremony and reception.
August 12 through the 15th I will be in Sandpoint shooting wakeboarding. There should be a lot of pros from the Northwest showing up for this video and photo shoot. While I’m up there I’m also going to be shooting a lifestyle session. On the 15th I’m shooting a lifestyle session with the family of Buck Knives. I’m REALLY excited about this session. I’ve had a buck knife since I was 8 and to have the opertunity to photograph this family is a great honor!
August 16th – 19th I fly to San Diego California to photograph Cara & Brocks wedding.
Gust 20th through 24 is currently open and I’m hoping to stay home and get everything caught up.
August 25th Is Holly and Richards wedding in Hayden. this should be another great wedding for the SWP wedding year!
August 31 I have Geneva & Adams wedding at The Davenport Hotel!
September 1st I have another wedding in Sandpoint at Schweitzer Mountain resort. Beverly and Kimber seem like such an amazing couple and I can’t wait to hangout with them in the mountains!
September 7th I have Melissa and Chad’s wedding! Make sure to checkout there lifestyle session from June. This couple created some great images!
The weeks in between I will be preparing for my 4day photography workshop with David Beckstead. The dates for that are Sept 10th thru the 14th. We stil have some space available so call today to save your spot.
September 20 thru 23 I’m in California to shoot Alicia and Mikes in Corona Del Mar!
September 23 thru 28th I will be in Maui! YEAH!
So now you can see why I needed to hire a couple people. Without these new teammates there is no way I can pull this off!
One last thing……I get my new Iphone on Friday! So excited to play with this new toy!

I received an email awhile back from one of my grooms uncles. He explained that he loved Ryan and Meagan’s engagement photos so much that he wanted me to shoot a session with him and his three kids the day before the wedding. So of course I said yes as long as he new my “style” was a little different than most family photo sessions. We spent about an hour together shooting and walked away with some great images! This family has way to much fun together! normally I’m directing and explaing what I’m looking for in this image. But the Long’s just sat where I wanted them and put on a show! Thanks for the beers Gary.

Ok, so I’m real far behind in getting my sessions posted and creating slide shows. But I promise I will be caught up by mid next week. So you can count on the blog having a lot of posts in the next week or so.
The Indian shoot went really well! I shoot some amazing images of these indian’s in authentic clothing.I’m hoping to get the ok to post some of the pics on the blog but until then they need to stay safe in their little folder. More on this later……
Last week I shoot Melissa and Chad’s lifestyle session. Another great couple that created some really fun imagery. I just love how my clients are always open to doing something unique and different. I’m not sure how I get so lucky but I hope it never stops. Enjoy the pics.

This was crazy! I was laying on the concrete to get this shot and out walked this alligator!

Melissa your slide show will be up tomorrow.

Holly and Richard are getting married in August at a private residence in town. I cant wait for this wedding, we have some mutual friends and I can’t wait to see everybody. These two were a lot of fun and followed directions really well! I had a bunch of new ideas to test out on them and everything turned out great. Here are some of my favorites….

Richard is a big fan of Honey Buckets…….so we found one to use!

I’m finally home and as usual swamped with playing catch up. The weather was gorgeous for the shoot and I can’t tell you how nice it was to have some sun on my skin! We started the session in Balboa Park (which was packed) and ended our session in La Jolla on the beach (which was just as packed but in a more confined area). Somehow I was able to frame the “extras” out of most of the images (ok, well I know how I did it. But you have to come to the workshop to find out! Ha). Let me know what you think.

Aren’t they a cute couple?

Yes, I’m aware that this image is out of focus. But, I love the feel of it, the sun coming through them, the soft look etc.

I think this is a great image. Has a really nice warm feeling to it!

Ok, this is one of my favorite images from the shoot. I know its a little traditional, but the movement in the water along with the sunset really makes this a striking image.

Just want to say thank you to Cara and Brock for the good time, the beers and all the laughs. When I get the slide show up I will post the link for others to see.
