Ellie + Denver

A couple weeks ago I was hired to photograph Ellie and Denver’s wedding in Spokane. The ceremony was at St. Al’s on the Gonzaga college campus with the ceremony at the Manito Country Club. It has been a long time since I photographed a winter wedding. I forgot about the extra variables and the most important being the temperature! My style doesn’t really allow me to shoot indoors in low light. So I always take my clients outside in order to get that “true” expression. Well I think the high was 20 degree’s and the girls froze that day. Especially when we took a walk around downtown Spokane! Some of the girls were purple and blue and I had to cut it short.

You will notice a couple photos in this group that have a different tint to them. This effect is called Duo tone and I just love the look of them!

What do you think?

Mom update + workshop + Wedding updates

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I wanted to give you guys an update on my mom. She will be having a full mastectomy within the next two weeks. The fact that the Dr are doing this surgery is a great thing. It means she is getting better and they are taking the next step to making her cancer free. I will be heading down sometime next week to take care of her after surgery. I want to thank everyone for your thought and prayers, the are working!

Workshop Update

I’m also really close to announcing my photo workshops. The workshops will be focused on beginner photographers that want to learn how to take great pictures with your point and shoot camera or your DSLR camera. I will be teaching 2 classes, one for each camera type (point and shoot or DSLR). This way I can really focus on the various camera modes and settings for each. Each class will be 4 sessions and 2 hours for each session. Here is how each class will be broken down….

Day 1 – Focusing on your camera settings and shooting modes

Day 2 – Learn how to get the proper exposure, lens effects, photography rules and when to break them.

Day 3 – Photo fun day. We will head out and shoot till our hearts content. Applying the new knowledge you have obtained from the last 2 days.

Day 4 – Choose your 5 favorite photos and the whole class will do a constructive critique on them.

Keep checking back for the dates. Or email me if you want to be put on the list.

Wedding Update

I was reviewing my wedding dates and realized that I don’t not have any weddings booked for July! This is unheard of for me and I would really love to fill up those Saturdays. If you know anyone who is getting married in July and still needs a photographer please send them my way.
