Hello everyone. I wanted to post my schedule for the next couple of weeks so everyone knows where I’m at and why I have not gotten back with you. So hear it is….
For the rest of the week I will be shooting lifestyle sessions, I will be in and out of the office. Thursday and Friday will be my catch up days for all my editing and returning emails/ phone calls.
From June 1st – 11th I will be on vacation with very limited if any email and phone access. I’m headed to southern Utah for a little R&R with friends. We will be backpacking through Escalante, Canyonlands and Arches National Park. This is my favorite area to get away from it all. There is nothing like red sandstone cliffs and no communication from the outside world. I’m going to be taking this time to reflect on my business, my new marketing campaigns and spending some quality time with old friends.
I will return on the 11th and then its right back to the grind of Lifestyle sessions and weddings. After my wedding on the 16th with Meagan & Ryan I’m headed to Sheridan, WY with my dad (oh and the 18th is my birthday if you want to send a card lol). We are going to be photographing a native american tribe from that area. These images are going to be used in a coffee table book in the near future. I’m really excited to be assisting my dad on this shoot. He is the leader (possibly in the world) in wet plate photography, which is the type of photography done in the Civil War. The images are actually recorded on a piece of glass. I will post pictures from this shoot when I return from this trip.
The Sasquatch Festival at the gorge was amazing!!! Besides the crazy wind that delayed most of the show! But the wind turned out to be a good thing. Instead of Micheal Franti & Spearhead playing for 25 minutes on the main stage. They were moved to a smaller stage where they were the last to perform on that stage. Which means they played all night! 2.5 hours straight and even outlasted the Beastie Boys. So while everyone was pilling out from the main stage they filled in the Spearhead area for one last song and it went OFF! Lets see if I can post a video that I took!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Some of you might remember the lifestyle session from earlier this moth with these two. They are not only great people with a HUGE future together but they are also so fun to work with. They day started off a little behind schedule but we made up the time real quick! I wanted to get these pictures posted because I’m taking the rest of the weekend off.
I have tickets for the Sasquach Festival at the Gorge Amphitheater. If you have never been to this venue put it on your things to do before you die list. Its a beautiful and amazing location. I’m finally going to see Michael Franti & Spearhead in concert. I’ve been trying to get to one of their shows for over 10 years and its finally going to happen! When I get back I will post some pictures from the weekend.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ok everyone I just finished my next ad design so I want to know what you think. Please leave me some comments on what you like or don’t. The bride is one of my good friends Breana, isn’t she gorgeous!

Just got an email from the ad firm that they are already using the wakeboard lifestyle images. So check it out below. I also just got back from Bend, OR and I had a blast. A lot of Coeur d Alene friends came down for our buddy Scott’s 36th Birthday. I will post some pics from the Bend wedding soon.

Well I have been going non stop, traveling, shooting, booking weddings for 2008 & 2009 and I’m headed to Bend, OR today for Kelly and Tabitha’s wedding. Thursday, I meeting with some potential brides and Friday I’m headed to Mt Hood to get one more ski day in this year. I can’t wait.
On Monday I spent some time shooting one of my brides for this year. Her name is April and she has also been a friend of mine for awhile now. If all goes well one of the images is going to be gracing the cover of a magazine. I need to thank Jaime Johnson for pulling all this together for me while I’ve been out of town. Make up was done by the one and only Julie Farley at the Makeup Studio in Spokane. Flowers were provided by the Art of flower aka Carissa. Carissa is by far the best and most creative florist in the area. Although she doesn’t have a website I can put you in touch with her. Just send me an email. Our gorgeous gown was provided by Storybook bridal in Hayden, ID. This is a new high end dress boutique in the area and their stuff rocks!
The shoot only had one mishap and it wasn’t Jaime’s fault (because she rocks and doesn’t make mistakes). The hair person never showed up to do the up do! Which put us back an extra hour and a half! Luckily April does hair for a living and I had her just put it up clean and simple (no reason to stress about things that are out of your control). My instructions for this shot was to keep the background simple and bright. With only having 1.5 hrs to shot till my light was gone I headed out to some farm land and went for it.
Let me know which is your favorite.

I must admit I love summer time in Coeur d alene. There is nothing better than a long day at work and an evening on the boat with all your friends. Well actually there is one thing better and thats working hard all day on the boat and spending an evening with your friends wakeboarding!
Blue 541 which is an advertising company in Coeur d alene asked me to photograph their new ad campaign for Malibu boats. Of course I said “Yes” since I love being on the boat and I have a little experience in the wakeboard lifestyle. The concepts they came up with sounded so fun, we immediately came up with numerous photo ideas for this campaign. We also lucked on the weather the last couple days. It has been a long cold spring and Monday was our first real nice day with a temp of 70 degree’s and blue sky’s. Tuesday was the icing on the cake with it being 80 degrees and another gorgeous bluebird day. After a couple long days shooting I think we nailed everything they wanted. I need to thank all of the models that helped out. Especially Chris Craig (professional wakeboarder who is also sponsored by Malibu boats) for taking time off of work and helping me out. I need to give a shout out to Ten- Eighty wakeboard clothing for supplying product for the models. Everyone should check out Ten-Eighty’s site and buy some gear. This company really believes in supporting the industry and its riders. Not only that but a lot of the images on the website are mine. Thanks Scott! Last but not least I need to thank Rocky from the Coeur d Alene Yacht Club. Rocky set us up with some sweet brand new Malibu’s to use for the shoot. If your in the market for a new boat go see Rocky.
Now it’s time for some photos!

I even try to use flare in my commercial work. I love this image!

Last but not least, here are a couple images of me hard at work.

Chris Craig enjoying a cold one during our break. Make sure to get the new Wakeboard magazine, Chris and I collaborated last year and got a couple images in the most recent edition.

What a great weekend in Seattle (besides the weather). I had a great time assisting Joy with Amy & Jeff’s wedding at the Harbor Club (which just happens to be on the 25th floor with amazing views). The couple was fun to photograph and Amy really knows how to work the camera! Being that this was the first time in six years that I was someone’s assistant I took full advantage. I really tried to find new angles, reflections and even had time to play with some motion images! I want to thank Joy for inviting me to work with her on this wedding. I hope we get to work together in the future again! If you want to see some of Joy’s images check out her blog. I’m sure something will be up soon.

Here is a couple reflection shots I found.

Heres Joy doing what she does best!

Joy has this really cool video light. Since its a different color temperature it makes daylight turn blue. I can’t wait to get one of these cool little toys!

I’m really beginning to love images with flare!

A little motion to get the creative juices going.

I absolutely love this image below. The sun decided to shine out of the clouds and into the windows. Right when that happened I noticed the really cool shadows on this guys face. I think it really makes this image a lot more dramtic!

Yesterday I hoped in the truck and head south to Salva & Dallas’s pad in Moscow, ID. They both are graduating this year, moving and planning a wedding! Man, talk about a busy month! Anyways here are some shots from the Lifestyle session, Enjoy!

I’m off to Seattle today! I have some wakeboarding to photograph Thursday and Friday ( Oh, if you go a out and buy the New edition of Wakeboarding Magazine I have two images published in the issue.) this week and I’m assisting my friend Joy Marie Photography with a wedding on Saturday. I’m really looking forward to this! I can’t remember the last time I was an assistant at a wedding!
